Social Responsibility: Disaster Relief

Supporting Communities Affected by Disaster

Continuing our 20 year relationship, we partner with the American Red Cross and our employees to respond to disasters by providing access to free vision care for community members who’ve lost their eyewear because seeing well is essential to the recovery process. We also provide customized support to doctors whose practices have been damaged or destroyed to restore hope and access to vision care. And we donate funds through special campaigns to aid the first response and community recovery. To date, we’ve invested more than $19.4 million in direct and in-kind support.

A Home Destroyed

Returning to Paradise

When the Camp Fire devastated Paradise, California many were unsure if the town could ever recover. After nearly a year of cleanup, rebuilding, and creative problem-solving, schools finally reopened in Paradise. As part of the reopening celebration, VSP Eyes of Hope and GLAM4GOOD returned to the community to treat more than 300 teachers, staff, and students to an unforgettable back-to-school experience.
